Type of themes and thematic progression patterns in low achiever’s descriptive writings

چکیده

The Low Achiever’s writing is frequently categorized as the low coherent text due to quality of their writings based on rubric used at school. Hence, focus in this study analyze Types Theme and Thematic Progression patterns found Descriptive Writings with descriptive-qualitative research design. objective observe coherency achiever’s analysis Progression. steps are selecting two descriptive texts school’s rubric, dividing them clauses, analyzing both progression, then providing results analysis. result shows that all types Themes Progressions writings. Unmarked Topical Constant Patterns most used. conclusion cannot be considered a low-coherent School’s only, suggested conducted for extra observation evaluation despite easy common themes many constant start clauses Keywords: text, systemic functional linguistics, theme, thematic progression
